Ingredients
- 2 lbs beef short ribs
- 1 radish (cut into large pieces)
- 4 cloves garlic
- 2 scallions (cut into large pieces)
- Salt and black pepper
- Soy sauce (optional)
Preparation
- Prepare the Beef Soak the beef short ribs in cold water for at least 1 hour to remove excess blood. Blanch the ribs in boiling water for 5 minutes to eliminate impurities, then rinse thoroughly.
- Simmer the Broth In a large pot, combine the ribs, radish, garlic, and scallions with plenty of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer and cook for 2-3 hours, letting the flavors develop slowly.
- Season the Soup Remove the radish and slice it thinly. Season the broth with salt and black pepper, and add a little soy sauce if desired for extra flavor.
- Serve and Enjoy Ladle the broth and beef into bowls, adding the sliced radish on top. Garnish with chopped scallions and serve with steamed rice for a complete, comforting meal.
