Welcome to Buyeo Balloon Village

A Bold New Playground—Between Earth and Sky
Buyeo Balloon Village is Korea’s very first hot air balloon-themed village park, inspired by the dream of becoming the “Cappadocia of Korea.” Set in the thousand-year-old city of Buyeo, this unique place blends the area’s rich historical charm, the natural beauty of the Baekma River, and the thrill of flying—all to open up new possibilities for young people.

The Only Place in Korea with Perfect Conditions for Flight
Buyeo offers an unbeatable environment for hot air ballooning—ideal for free flights on nearly 300 days out of the year. With its wide open plains, low skyline due to building height restrictions, and the meandering Baekma River, the area provides the perfect terrain for balloon flights. This rare natural setting offers young people an experience they won’t find anywhere else in the country.

Three Signature Programs for Growth and Entrepreneurship

Balloon Odyssey (Short-Term Experience)
A 5-day introductory program that includes hot air balloon safety training, a breathtaking flight over the Baekma River, and meaningful exchanges with local youth. It’s the perfect way to immerse yourself in the magic of Buyeo.

Balloon School (Professional Training)
Korea’s only pilot training academy for hot air balloons. This intensive 4-week program helps participants earn a professional pilot license and grow into aerial sports professionals.

Balloon Lab (Startup & Creative Careers)
From building local brands using hot air balloons to developing new tourism content, this program supports youth-led innovation. Participants receive up to 2 million KRW (approx. $1,500) in prototype funding to turn their creative ideas into real businesses.

A Full Support System for Settling In

Buyeo Balloon Village isn’t just about short-term experiences—it’s designed to help young people truly settle and thrive. With shared housing options like the Balloon Guesthouse and Balloon Share House, residents live together in three-room communal spaces that naturally connect them with the local community.Through the Balloon Fellowship Community, youth participants, local residents, and expert instructors form a tight-knit support network—growing together and building a thriving ecosystem of mutual care and collaboration.

Going Global While Staying Local

The village actively builds international partnerships through exchanges with world-renowned hot air balloon festivals in places like Saga, Japan, and Taitung, Taiwan—adding a global edge to its expertise. At the same time, Buyeo remains deeply connected to its local roots. Monthly meetups with local residents foster true community partnership. Creative collaborations with artists from the 123 Sabi Craft Center and small business owners in the region ensure that youth settlement brings new energy to the entire community.
